Dear TC Community Members:

I want to wish a generous Ramadan to all those who celebrate. This sacred month in the Islam calendar offers a time for deep reflection alongside loved ones, but even if you are apart from family or home, I hope that you can still experience the meaningful reflection of the holiday.

Ramadan is a time both for deep spiritual devotion and reflection on the responsibility to ourselves and to those in need. Our friends and colleagues who celebrate may fast, practice spiritual discipline and engage in charitable efforts during this time of both meaningful contemplation and joy, concluding with the festival of Eid al-Fitr on April 21. As a reminder, events and programming hosted by Columbia Muslim Life are open to TC students, and more information on accommodations may be found here.

During Ramadan, may we all remember to remain connected to our inner selves and one another. Once again Ramadan Kareem — may you have a generous Ramadan.

Warmly,

Thomas Bailey
