CLASSES FOR TC STUDENTS


The TC Courses below may or may not be offered every semester (Fall, Spring and Summer). To view more information about these courses below, please visit TC's online course schedule. When you are directed to the online course schedule webpage, please follow the steps below:

  • Click on the Please select a term drop down to click on the semester term you want to view courses for;
  • Then, click on the Any subject drop down and select A&HA (this is the code for the courses in the Art and Art Education Program);
  • Lastly, click on the green Search button at the bottom of the menu list

A list of all the courses in the Art and Art Education Program that given semester will be appear. 

This studio-based course focuses on basic techniques of hand-building and throwing on the potter’s wheel. Through experimentation with clay as a material and personal expression, students will learn about the various stages and processes of clay. Multiple clay bodies, surface decoration, and firing techniques are utilized.

 

A&HA 4092 - Credits: 2 or 3

Permission of instructor is required. This studio-based course focuses on further studies in ceramics with an emphasis on exploring the diverse possibilities and various processes of using clay, ceramic materials, interdisciplinary methods, and digital tools to build a personal language within clay. Advanced Ceramics is designed to help those who have taken Introduction to Ceramics to develop a more independent practice.

 

A&HA 5092 - Credits: 2 or 3

Permission of instructor is required. This studio-based course is for advanced independent study that emphasizes personal exploration and experimentation within the medium. Enrollment is limited.

 

A&HA 6906 - Credits: 1 to 4
