Special Topics: Ceramic Materials and Glaze

This Special Topics course will focus on the science and technical aspects of ceramics materials and glaze development. The course meets for 5 sessions over the course of the Summer 2024 term. Students will come together to test ceramic materials, and to learn how to develop and alter glazes. Discussions will also include various aspects of firing.

Course fees include access to the ceramics materials, clay needed for testing, and all firing.

Please note that this course does not include open studio access or instruction on creating objects within ceramics. Students must register for one of the nine week courses to have full access to the studio materials and open studio hours.
