Jennifer Ruth Hoyden (She/Her/Hers)
Ed.D. Student, Art and Art Education
Dissertation Advisor: Judith M. Burton
Research Discipline/Bio
I am a doctoral candidate in the Art & Art Education Program where I am also a Fellow and Gallery Coordinator for the Macy Art Gallery.
I research ways that artists activate and are activated by the materials they work with. I am currently focused on how changes in materials are a potential turning point for imaginative thinking. My research aims to inform teaching practices that can support material responsiveness as part of an artistic practice.
I have presented papers and workshops, both internationally and domestic, on my research.
In addition to my own studies, I have taught research seminars at the graduate level.
