Research Discipline/Bio
As of fall 2024, I am a PhD student in Philosophy of Education at Teachers College. I have a deep passion for and interest in democratic processes and participatory decision making. My commitment to philosophy of education is fueled by a desire to actively confront the value systems and prioritization in current public education decision making and research. Through educational theory, I aim to make educational value choices explicit and available for discussion.
I have worked as a high school teacher in both New York City and Sweden for a total of 8 years. I have also been involved in local politics in both NYC and Malmö, Sweden, where I served on the city council. In my spare time, I also like to engage in discussions on education through open mic performances of original anecdotal think pieces wrestling with the day-today of the education system.
