Scholarly Interests
Experiential & Transformative Learning (Theory) + Action Learning (Practice)—Teachers College Foundations, Applied in Leadership Development in Non-Western Contexts
Dr. Chaiwinij’s research and teaching are grounded in three Teachers College traditions: Experiential Learning (John Dewey), Transformative Learning (Jack Mezirow), and Organizational & Incidental Learning (Victoria Marsick). Prof. Victoria Marsick—mentor, collaborator, and leading scholar—profoundly shaped his academic path. As her Graduate Assistant (2016–2020), he co-presented applied projects and workshops in New York, Barcelona, and Bergamo, deepening his understanding of leadership and organizational learning across cultures.
Building on this lineage, his research applies Experiential, Transformative, and Action Learning to strengthen school leadership for disadvantaged and minority students in the Golden Triangle. This work is advanced through the Visionary Leadership Academy, funded by the John F. Kennedy Foundation and supported by Thailand’s Ministry of Education. His doctoral dissertation, Nurturing School Leadership for At-Risk Schools at the Golden Triangle through Action Learning, reflects this commitment.

Through these academic and social impact initiatives, Dr. Chaiwinij continues to empower youth, educators, and communities to reimagine leadership in diverse cultural contexts.
