Ed.M., Ed.D. in Applied Linguistics, Teachers College, Columbia University

Scholarly Interests

Much of my work, as both an academic researcher and facilitator, is focused on what I call a “micro-revolution” — the possibility for change inherent in each moment of everyday interaction. I look at student participation and agency in multilingual classrooms; teacher agency and teacher reflection; and community conversations about and across difference. Current projects include bringing the FAB framework into a teacher preparation program; teacher participatory action research on teacher agency and well-being; and LANSI-T, a student research group focusing on teacher-student interaction.
