Academic Consultations

"Learning is the only thing the mind never exhausts, never fears, and never regrets."

-Leonardo da Vinci

Student Success provides support services to enhance TC students' academic success. We focus on collaborative learning and empower students to connect with us through peer-to-peer education and academic guidance.  We provide a range of services designed to support all members of the TC community academically as graduate students.

To advance these goals, we provide the following services:

  • One-on-one coaching and consultation sessions around writing, research, public speaking, statistics, and academic skills
  • Monthly workshops on a variety of academic topics
  • Periodic write-ins to offer a community space for independent writing
  • Peer-led public speaking group and writing and research group

Our team of Success Fellows offers individualized and targeted feedback in various academic subjects:

Writing and Research Fellows help students adopt multiple paths to clarity during all phases of the writing and research process, providing support in drafting and revising academic term/response papers, literature reviews, statements of purpose, annotated bibliographies, and dissertations/thesis.

The Public Speaking Fellow coaches students on preparing class or conference presentations, providing support in organizing and delivering speeches, building confidence, and managing speaking anxiety.

The Statistic Fellow helps students learn about different statistics software (including SPSS, Stata, etc.) and provides academic strategies to improve statistics skills, research, and assignments.

The Academic Readiness Fellow coaches students on academic skills including time management, executive function, goal setting, and utilizing academic campus resources.

For a limited time, the IRB Intern is available to help students navigate the IRB process, answer general questions related to the IRB, and learn the difference between writing for a general audience versus a scientific one.

Our Services

Services are available to current TC students enrolled in a masters or doctoral degree program. We offer support in all academic work, not career documents. We do not offer proofreading, formatting, or editing services.
