Council Education of the Deaf

The Council on Education of the Deaf (CED) (http://www.councilondeafed.org) is an organization sponsored by five major national organizations dedicated to quality education for all deaf and hard of hearing students. CED promulgates nationally recognized standards for teachers of deaf and hard of hearing students in all educational settings, accredits university programs preparing teachers of deaf and hard-of-hearing students, and collaborates with a variety of other related organizations through several national committees and workgroups.  Teachers College Deaf Education program is CED certified!

Pepnet 2

The mission of PepNet2: Deaf and Hard of Hearing (http://www.pepnet.org) is to increase the educational, career and lifetime choices available to individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing and to improve postsecondary outcomes for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing, including those with co-occurring disabilities.

The Alexander Graham Bell Association

http://listeningandspokenlanguage.org for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing helps families; health care providers and education professionals understand childhood hearing loss and the importance of early diagnosis and intervention. Through advocacy, education, research and financial aid, AG Bell helps to ensure that every child and adult with hearing loss has the opportunity to listen, talk and thrive in mainstream society.

Hands & Voices (www.handsandvoices.org) is a national non-profit parent-driven organization that provides communication-unbiased information, educational advocacy, parent-mentoring and much more to families with children who are deaf or hard of hearing, and to the professionals who serve them.

The National Association of the Deaf (NAD) (http://nad.org) is the nation's premier civil rights organization of, by and for deaf and hard of hearing individuals in the United States of America.

The National Cued Speech Association

The National Cued Speech Association champions effective communication, language development and literacy through the use of Cued Speech.
