In the Department of Health & Behavior Studies

Do you want to become a registered dietitian-nutritionist (RDN)?

If the answer is YES, there are THREE STEPS you must fulfill.

  1. Successfully complete a series of courses called the Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD). Once completed and verified, you will be eligible to apply for admission to an accredited Dietetic Internship Program.
  2. Successfully complete an accredited Dietetic Internship Program. Dietetic Internship Programs consist of 1,200 or more hours of supervised practice in the nutrition field.
  3. Successfully pass the Dietetic Registration Exam administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration, the credentialing agency for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
