For Families

Our camp runs on weekdays, from Thursday, June 30th through Friday, July 29th (no camp on Monday, July 4th).

Our program is designed as a month-long experience. This allows us to create a strong camp community and engage in deep scientific explorations in each camp group. All campers attend for the full month of camp and we are not able to prorate for any time missed.

We do not provide transportation. Teachers College campus is easily accessible through the following public transit options: the 1 train and the M4, M5, M11, and M104 buses. https://www.tc.columbia.edu/about/visit/

Yes, all admitted camp families will have the opportunity to submit a Special Request Form, requesting the placement of your child in the same group with one other child. Group placements are determined by campers’ age, and we do our best to honor all reciprocal requests.

Our camp offers programs for rising 1st graders to rising 5th graders.

No, we are only able to accept campers who have completed Kindergarten, regardless of their age.

As we have throughout the pandemic, we will continue to follow the policies and guidance of the CDC, the New York State Health Department and the New York City Department of Health. Ultimately, campus access requirements are determined by Teachers College. Current requirements for visitors to campus are: up to date vaccinations, masking in most indoor campus settings, and a daily health screening. Please visit the Teachers College Preparedness page for more details. See Visitor Guidelines | Campus Life During COVID-19 | Preparedness | Teachers College, Columbia University

We anticipate masks will be optional while outdoors. Teachers College will review its indoor masking requirements later this spring. We will communicate any changes as we receive them. Our finalized health compact will be shared in June and will be guided by community levels of COVID-19 and the most current Teachers College policies.

This summer, we are back to our regular student:teacher ratio, which is 3-4 teachers for 25 campers.

Hollingworth Science Camp is located at Teachers College, Columbia University campus at 525 W 120th St in Upper Manhattan.
