Travis Bristol was born and raised in East New York, Brooklyn, Travis J. Bristol currently teaches 12th grade English at The Urban Assembly School for Law & Justice. When this website was made, he was teaching 9th and 10th grade English and Humanties at another small high school. Both schools are located in New York City. Travis received his bachelor's degree in English from Amherst College with a concentration in Post-Colonial Literature of the African Diaspora and his Master's degree in Education specializing in the Teaching of English from Stanford University. |

Originally from Texas, Emily Venson LeVasseur currently teaches 8th grade Language Arts at Harlem Village Academy, a charter school in New York City. When this website was made, she was teaching 9th grade Humanities at a high school in New York City. Before moving to New York, she taught 11th and 12th grade English at YES College Preparatory School, a public charter school in Houston, Texas. She received her bachelor’s degree in English and History from Rice University and her Master’s degree in Education specializing in the Teaching of English from Stanford University. |

Yvonne Divans Hutchinson is a National Board certified teacher who has focused for many years on developing strategies to engage all her students in substantive discussions of literary texts and the issues those texts raise for their own lives. In this approach, she builds on the oral traditions of her students African-American and Latino cultures and seeks to support the development of their literacy skills through high standards, explicit expectations, and rigorous literature experiences. |

Dr. Pamela Grossman's teaching and research interests center on the education of teachers, the relationship between teacher education and knowledge, and policy and programmatic issues related to teacher education. Her current research includes a study of pathways into teaching in New York City schools (with Don Boyd, Hamp Lankford, Susanna Loeb, and Jim Wyckoff) and a cross-professional study of preparation of clergy, teachers, and clinical psychologists. She has served as the Vice-President of Division K (Teaching and Teacher Education) for the American Educational Research Association and as a member of AERA’s Council and Executive Board. |
