Peace and Human Rights Education is an interdisciplinary field that addresses justice, sustainable peace, and human dignity. Courses within this field can focus on direct structural and cultural violence through pedagogy, curriculum, and policies, in both formal and non-formal contexts. Courses also may address policies and practices of actors, ranging from inter-governmental organizations to community-based educators. There are a diverse range of courses offered within the International Educational Development program, and there is also an extensive list of courses offered within other programs at Teachers College and the other Columbia University affiliates.
