Teachers' Voices

The teachers that we work with show incredible resilience, spirit, and dedication to teaching. Though education is a profession that has an enormous impact on students, their families and communities - and ultimately shapes the future generation of our global community - it is one that seldom gets the recognition and acknowledgment it deserves. The challenges faced by teachers in Kakuma Refugee Camp (and other crisis contexts) are unimaginable to many of us, particularly those who work as classroom teachers in more stable parts of the world. We want to create a space in our work that invites teachers who are working in such extraordinary circumstances to share their stories, reflect on their impact, and introduce their realities in their own words to a wider audience.
