What motivated you to be a teacher? What continues to motivate you?
I ventured into the teaching because of two reasons. Firstly, I had this insatiable desire to work with and for the children. Moreover, Kakuma has a limited number of job opportunities, hence, when the chance came, I grabbed it with both hands. It is therefore because of two reasons that is why I am motivated to start teaching.
The fact that I love dealing with children fascinated me a lot. Throughout my years of experiences as a teacher, teaching has allowed me to view things from a different perspective, different angle and different depth. In essence, I have realized that a pupil’s point of view at times differs from what teachers perceive of them. Furthermore, a journey of a thousand miles has already begun for me. No turning back as I am motivated every time I wake up!
