Training teams of international and local staff lead in-person training sessions with 25 to 30-person teacher cohorts. During this time, teachers learn new techniques and methodologies -- crafted particularly for emergency contexts -- that they can immediately begin putting into practice. There are two concurrent training tracks -- Initial Training Pack and Extended Training Pack -- through which all teachers participate. This is followed by peer coaching and mobile mentoring. Both cohorts receive training in the following modules: Teacher's Role and Well-being; Child Protection, Well-being and Inclusion; Pedagogy; and Curriculum and Planning.

Teachers for Teachers brings together a variety of professional development opportunities for refugee teachers to provide on-site and online tailored, engaging and integrated support. Training teams of international and local staff facilitate in-person training sessions with 25 to 30-person teacher cohorts. During this time, teachers learn new techniques and methodologies -- crafted particularly for emergency contexts -- that they can immediately begin putting into practice. There are two concurrent training tracks -- Initial Training Pack and Extended Training Pack -- through which all teachers participate. The training is followed by peer coaching and mobile mentoring. The Initial Training Pack (ITP) consists of a four day training followed by two months of peer coaching and two months of mobile mentoring. ITP cohorts cover four modules on each day of their training, which include Teacher's Role and Well-being; Child Protection, Well-being and Inclusion; Pedagogy; and Curriculum and Planning. Members of this cohort can apply to be coaches and receive coaching through the Teacher Learning Circle Facilitator model (read more about this on our coaching page). The Extended Training Pack (ETP) consists of eleven months of training with four core modules, eleven months of peer coaching, and 6 months of mobile mentoring. The ETP cohort covers the same four modules over a longer period of time. The module on Pedagogy consists of three days of training; Curriculum & Planning lasts four days; Child Protection, Well-Being and Inclusions lasts four days; and Teacher’s Role & Well-being lasts three days. Members of this cohort can apply to be TLC Facilitators who organize Teacher Learning Circles (TLCs) for their fellow teachers (read more about this on our coaching page).
