TC NEXT supports students and alumni as they define, pursue, and achieve success in varied impactful career and professional paths.  From a student's first day at Teachers College, TC NEXT provides the scaffolding and inspiration to ensure that they will be prepeared to take their next steps beyond graduate school after earning their degree.


In collaboration with partners across the College, TC NEXT plans events and programs, offers networking opportunities, and provides professional development and career advising support to all students-from identifying potential career paths, to developing skills to compete for positions within them, to managing their careers.  These offerings help prepare students for success in academia, business, entrepreneurship, government, nonprofits, and beyond.

Career Consultations:: TC NEXT offers individual consultations, either in-person or by phone or virtually to assist TC students with their career development needs.

Document Review: TC students can have their cover letter/resume/curriculum vitae (CV)/personal statement reviewed either in-person, remotely or by phone. Those individuals applying for further graduate education may also utilize services for application document review.

Events & Programs: Offerings include career development workshops and panels, career support groups, virtual & in-person career fairs, networking events and employer information sessions.

Mock Interviews: These sessions provide TC students with a forum to practice their interview skills and receive feedback about how to improve their performance for the actual employer interview.

Career Groups: Collaborative sessions where students come together to discuss career development topics, review resumes and meet the TC NEXT staff.

Canvas Career Education Course: Virtually participate in TC NEXT's free course located in your Canvas account.  This course is available 24/7 and covers core workshops (Resume/Cover Letter Writing, CV/Cover Letter Writing, General Interviewing, Job Search/Networking/Social Media, Salary Negotiation).


TC NEXT on MyTC Portal: Within the portal, select the TC Services tab.  TC NEXT is located on the right-hand side of the page.  


TC NEXT Career Resources Portal (Online Career Development Resource & Job Database): Promotes career opportunities and recruitment initiatives to TC students and alumni.  Search full and part-time job openings, internships, volunteer and fellowship opportunities; view and register for career programs, career fairs, on-campus interviews and employer information sessions; access an online resource library, receive messages regarding upcoming career services events and create job agents.
