About Us
The Transformative Learning Technologies Lab is a pioneering research and development laboratory focused on enriching learning in STEM+CAI (science, technology, engineering, mathematics, computing, and artificial intelligence). Our lab is dedicated to connecting these disciplines with the passions and interests of K–12 students, their cultures, local knowledge, and creativity. TLTL initiatives empower students to explore science, engineering, computing, and technology by inventing solutions to real-world problems and designing authentic scientific experiments.
All of TLTL’s work is grounded in peer-reviewed academic research published in leading international journals and conferences in education, and has been recognized with two of the most prestigious academic awards in the United States.
- Over 11,300 citations on Google Scholar with an h-index of 49.

- Two forthcoming books on STEM+CAI education under contract with MIT Press, scheduled for publication in 2025/26.
- More than 300 academic publications, including 43 journal articles, 18 book chapters, 9 edited volumes, and approximately 250 conference papers and presentations.
