InSTEP/Hybrid Programs

Types of Assistance

Scholarships – Students admitted into the InSTEP programs in English Education or Teaching of Social Studies, or the Hybrid Summer Master of Arts in Music and Music Education will be considered for program scholarships during their first and second summer of study. First-year students will receive the equivalent of 4 tuition credits in scholarship, and second-year students will receive the equivalent of 2 tuition credits in scholarship.

Student Loans - Federal Student Loans are available to students who submit a Free Application for Student Aid (FAFSA).

Other types of assistance, such as external scholarships, student employment opportunities, fellowships and grants may also be available to InSTEP/Hybrid students. Learn more about the types of aid available at Teachers College.

How to Apply

Because the InSTEP/Hybrid programs begin during the Summer semester, students must submit two FAFSAs in order to be considered for federal aid for their first academic year:

  • Complete the 2019-2020 FAFSA no later than June 2020 using the Teachers College School Code: G03979
  • Complete the 2020-2021 FAFSA using the Teachers College School Code: G03979

Students planning to utilize federal student aid during the Fall and Spring semesters must contact the Office of Financial Aid to ensure their financial aid package is appropriately arranged.
