Master of Arts in TESOL, Teaching Residents @ TC (TRTC Initial)


The Teaching Residents at Teachers College Master of Arts program is a rigorous and intensive full-time teacher preparation program, which includes a substantial experiential element that incorporates components such as: extensive field work in schools, participation in events hosted by educational and community based organizations, and time spent exploring neighborhoods and communities where students attend school and live.  Requirement
 Online Degree Application, including Statement of Purpose and Resume
 Transcripts and/or Course-by-Course Evaluations for all Undergraduate/Graduate Coursework Completed
 Results from an accepted English Proficiency Exam (if applicable)
 $75 Application Fee
 Two (2) Letters of Recommendation
 Video essay required (included in online application)
 Supplemental application required (included in online application)
 Interview (phone, video, or in-person) required

In collaboration with the office of Teaching Residents at Teachers College (TR@TC), we are offering a TESOL MA initial certification program. It is an 18-months program, funded by USDOE. After graduation, residents pledge to teach in local high-needs public schools. Candidates applying for initial certification in New York will be required to take and pass all required New York State exams for initial certification. All courses must be passed with a grade of B- or above to count toward Initial New York State Certification.
