Degrees & Requirements
The Applied Linguistics and TESOL program at Teachers College, Columbia University offers three levels of graduate-level degrees. Students within the program can earn a Master of Arts (M.A.), a Master of Education (Ed.M.), and a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.).
For those interested in the Applied Linguistics and TESOL M.A. program, the program offers three tracks to choose from. These include the Applied Linguistics track, TESOL General track, or TESOL with initial PK-12 certification.
For those interested in the articulated Master of Education (Ed.M.), the program offers four specializations in Applied Linguistics which include second language acquisition, second language assessment, language use, and language & technology.
At the Ed.D. level, the program offers four specialization tracks in Applied Linguistics which include second language acquisition, second language assessment, language use, and language & technology.
