It's summertime and that means Teacher Professional Development Programs are in full swing. Christine Baron, Assistant Professor of Social Studies, is directing a project that might help program staff make some decisions about setting up their programs and addressing some perennial problems.

In Partnership with Thomas Jefferson's Monticello, Mystic Seaport, and George Washington's Mount Vernon, and funding from an IMLS National Leadership Grant, Dr. Baron's research team built an assessment tool to help museums and historic places understand what teachers need, want, learn, and retain when engaged in Historic Site-Based Professional Development Programs. All project articles are available via Open Access to ensure the information reaches the full compliment of stakeholder audiences.
