The TESOL Certificate Program is ideal for recent college students, current teachers who want to improve their skills, and career-changers. The part-time program is particularly suited for students who are currently working or have other commitments on their time.

TCP Fall-Spring Part-time Program Schedule
The 2026-2027 part-time program will run from September 21, 2026- April 26, 2027.
- Online portion: September 21, 2026- December 9, 2027
- Onsite* portion: February 5, 2027 - April 16, 2027
- Reflection Paper due - April 26, 2027
During the online portion, the hours are flexible. Students will take courses using a highly interactive learning management system called Canvas. The online portion is asynchronous, which allows students to study and complete assignments on their own time, abiding by the set deadlines by the instructors.
During the onsite* portion, students will be attending classes on Teachers College campus Fridays and Saturdays from 9:00am to 3:30 or 4:30pm. Students will take classes throughout the day and teach in the Community Language Program on select Friday mornings. Following the onsite portion, students are required to complete a reflection paper that synthesizes their personal experiences and the knowledge that they acquired in the TESOL Certificate Program. The Final Reflection paper is submitted online following the last week of instruction.
