Community Language Program

Welcome to the Community Language Program (CLP)

The CLP provides quality and affordable English and foreign language instruction to adult learners of diverse nationalities and backgrounds in the Columbia University and surrounding New York communities. It is part of the highly esteemed Applied Linguistics and TESOL (AL/TESOL) program here at Teachers College, Columbia University. The CLP serves as an education lab school, where M.A. students in Applied Linguistics and in TESOL complete their practical teacher training. Also, at times, doctoral students and faculty in AL/TESOL conduct second language second language research in the CLP.

UPDATE (September 2020): Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, Fall 2020 CLP classes are being held online. At this time, we do not know whether Spring 2021 classes will be in-person or online. Any updates will be announced here as we get them.

The CLP staff will continue to work remotely through December 2020. We would still love to hear from you! Email is the easiest way to communicate right now. However, if you would prefer to call, please leave a message so we can call you back!
