Update (Fall, 2020): Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, all Fall 2020 classes will be held online, and placement testing will be done remotely from students' homes. This means students are welcome to attend classes from anywhere in the world while we are online! Our teachers are fully trained and prepared to offer engaging and effective online language classes for our students. We look forward to staying connected with you and strengthening our sense of community through online learning during this unusual time!
Placement testing for Fall CLP classes: September 1, 2 & 3. This test is mandatory for all new students. The test will be done remotely from the student's computer at home. Students must have access to: 1) High Speed Internet; 2) A laptop or desktop computer with a working camera and microphone (the test cannot be done on an iPad/tablet or phone); 3) Google Chrome on the computer used for the test; and 4) A quiet place to take the test for about 2.5 hours on the test date.
CLP Fall classes: September 21 to December 5 (online)
Fall 2020 Registration Deadline: August 25. Registration is now closed.
New students for ESL and English special courses must be able to take the placement test on one of the the testing dates in order to be eligible to take classes. Absolutely no exceptions. Tests are available only by appointment, which is made during online registration.
Click here for the upcoming set of placement test dates.
You will select a test time and make an appointment upon registering and paying for your courses. There are no make-up test dates, so please consult your calendar prior to registering. You will not be eligible to take our courses if you cannot come for the placement test.
To take the exam at home and have it proctored by Honorlock, students must have:
Space in the following special classes is very limited and on a first-come, first-serve basis every semester: Conversation, Pronunciation, ESL Writing, Grammar & Writing, and TOEFL. We strongly encourage you to take an ESL class as an alternative.
Students may register for whichever courses they are interested in, however, it is important to know that the special courses (Conversation, Grammar & Writing, ESL Pronunciation, ESL Writing, and TOEFL) have a minimum level requirement of around Intermediate. If the student registering is just beginning with English, these courses won’t be right for them until they have spent several semesters building their English.
