The summer intensive program is ideal for candidates who are ready to jump into a new career or for current teachers looking to develop new skills over the summer. Due to the intensive nature of the program, we do not recommend pursuing the summer program while also working.

TCP Summer Intensive Program Schedule

The 2026 full-time summer intensive program will run from May 18th to August 17th, 2026

• Online portion: May 18- July 1, 2026(6 weeks)
• Onsite* portion: July 13- August 7, 2026 (4 weeks)
• Final Reflection Paper: due August 17, 2026

During the online portion, the hours are flexible. Students will take courses using a highly interactive learning management system called Canvas. The online portion is asynchronous, which allows students to study and complete assignments on their own time, abiding by the set deadlines by the instructors.

During the onsite* portion, students will be attending classes on Teachers College campus from Monday through Friday, from 9:00am to 3:30 or 4:30pm. Students will take classes throughout the week and teach in the Community Language Program on Friday mornings. 

Following the onsite portion, students are required to complete a reflection paper that synthesizes their personal experiences and the knowledge that they acquired in the TESOL Certificate Program. The Final Reflection paper is submitted online following the last week of instruction.
