President's Committee for Community & Diversity (CCD)

President's Committee for Community & Diversity (CCD)

Mission

The Committee serves as an advisory group to the President and the Office of Community Affairs (OCA) and serves as a catalyst for dialogue, collaboration, and action that promotes a holistic sense of belonging and inclusion at Teachers College. Subcommittees work to bring forward ideas, concerns and proposals.

CCD Objectives

Advisory Role

  • CCD advises the Office for Community Affairs (OCA) and College leadership on issues related to building community and fostering a sense of belonging.
  • CCD assists with helping to socialize new initiatives.

Campus Climate & Assessment

  • As a body representing all constituencies, the CCD shares concerns about campus climate.
  • CCD works with OCA to address issues and suggestions that arise through this process and collaborates with HR who spearheads the “Our Voice” initiative to measure culture, climate, and engagement.

CCD Sub Committees:

  • Community Engagement & Belonging- This subcommittee collaborates with staff in the Office of Community Affairs events to discuss College-wide events and programs that foster community engagement across the College.
