Supporting Jewish Communities
Antisemitism is a critical social justice issue, yet many are unclear on what the term means and are unfamiliar with its long history. All of this makes naming and addressing the issue complicated and necessary. Columbia University Life has compiled resources here to help people unpack what is meant by the term, and to address and combat the issue.

This resource was compiled in partnership with students, faculty and staff from across the University for you to use in your exploration of this critical issue and the development of skills to combat Antisemitism and Islamophobia. Teachers College Jewish Resilience Group
The Teachers College Jewish Resilience Group, formerly TC Faculty Against Antisemitism, was formed in the aftermath of October 7, 2023. Composed of both Jewish and non-Jewish faculty, the group seeks to strengthen Jewish belonging, connection, and support within the Teachers College community while serving as a resource for students, faculty, and staff navigating issues related to Jewish identity and contemporary antisemitism.
The group works to foster a campus environment in which Jewish members of the community feel respected, included, and able to participate fully in academic and professional life. Through collaboration with College administrators, educational and community-building initiatives, and direct support for members of the TC community, the group promotes understanding, connection, and resilience.
Group members meet with College administrators to share concerns, discuss campus climate issues, and identify practices that help prevent and address antisemitism. We also serve as a resource for students who may be experiencing discrimination, isolation, or other challenges related to their Jewish identity. In addition, we sponsor educational programs, discussions, and community-building events that strengthen relationships, foster dialogue, and support Jewish life at Teachers College.
Faculty members of the Jewish Resilience Group are available to meet with students seeking support related to Jewish identity, antisemitism, or other concerns affecting their experience at Teachers College. We also welcome conversations about student-faculty collaborations, educational programs, community-building initiatives, and social events.
Please feel free to contact individual faculty members directly or reach us at jewishresiliencygroup@tc.
