How to turn off the built-in password manager in your browser


  1. Click the Chrome menu Chrome Menu Icon in the toolbar.
  2. Choose “Settings”
  3. Scroll down to the bottom of the settings and click “Show advanced settings”.
  4. Uncheck the following under “Passwords and forms”: “Enable Autofill” to fill out web forms in a single click” and “Offer to save your web passwords”.

  1. Click the Firefox menu Firefox Menu Icon in the toolbar.
  2. Click the Preferences icon (in some versions of Firefox, this icon may be call “Options”
  3. Uncheck “Remember logins for sites” and “Use a master password.”

Internet Explorer

  1. From the Tools menu, choose Internet Options.
  2. On the Content tab, under AutoComplete, click Settings.
  3. Disable “Forms” and “User names and passwords on forms”.
  4. Click OK to save your changes.

  1. From the Safari menu, choose Preferences.
  2. Click the AutoFill icon.
  3. Uncheck the following: “Using info from my Contacts card”, “User names and passwords”, “Credit cards”, and “Other forms”.
