Digital Learning for the K-8 Classroom

Ongoing Enrollment

May 1, 2017 - May 1, 2017

This four-module online professional development course prepares K-8 teachers to cultivate their students’ digital literacies and 21st century skills. Participants in this course will familiarize themselves with the practical and theoretical knowledge needed to establish digital literacy skills in themselves and their students through lesson activities and curriculum development. They will also learn how to critically evaluate modern digital tools and technologies, as well as how to assess digital literacies in the classroom.


Gifted Education Workshops

Summer 2019

Gifted Education offers the following two workshops on a non-credit basis: Differentiated Instruction of Gifted Students in the Heterogeneous Classroom and Instructional Models in the Education of Gifted Students


Dignity for All Students Act (DASA)

June 23, 2019 - August 18, 2019

Participants in this workshop are trained to prevent and intervene with issues on harassment, bullying, cyber bullying and discrimination in an academic setting. This one day, six-hour workshop satisfies the requirements for New York State teacher certification.


Child Abuse Identification & Reporting

June 23, 2019 - August 25, 2019

In this workshop, participants train in the processes of both identifying and reporting suspected child abuse and maltreatment. This is a single session, two-hour workshop that satisfies this particular requirement for New York State teacher certification.


School Violence Prevention & Intervention

June 23, 2019 - August 25, 2019

In this single session, two-hour workshop, participants will receive training in the prevention and intervention of school violence. This workshop satisfies the School Violence and Intervention requirements for New York State teacher certification.


EQ Educator Institute:
Essential skills for Social Emotional Learning

The EQ Educator Institute provides insights and tools to effectively lead SEL by teaching and modeling learnable skills proven to increase academic and life success. Using the Six Second Model, this intensive 3-day institute equips educators to be more effective in teaching, modeling, and integrating these elements of Social Emotional Learning.


Leading with Evidence in Schools: Data and Research Literacy

This four-week, online course is designed to help current or aspiring teachers, school leaders, and district or state leaders enhance their skills and capacity to inform their decisions with valid and reliable forms of data and to select the best forms of assessments and best practices for their classrooms.


Teaching Food and Nutrition for All
