Digital Learning for the K-8 Classroom

Ongoing Enrollment

This four-module online professional development course prepares K-8 teachers to cultivate their students’ digital literacies and 21st century skills. Participants in this course will familiarize themselves with the practical and theoretical knowledge needed to establish digital literacy skills in themselves and their students through lesson activities and curriculum development. They will also learn how to critically evaluate modern digital tools and technologies, as well as how to assess digital literacies in the classroom.


Dignity for All Students Act (DASA)

May 4, 2019 - August 18, 2019

Participants in this workshop are trained to prevent and intervene with issues on harassment, bullying, cyber bullying and discrimination in an academic setting. This one day, six-hour workshop satisfies the requirements for New York State teacher certification.


Child Abuse Identification & Reporting

May 11, 2019 - August 25, 2019

In this workshop, participants train in the processes of both identifying and reporting suspected child abuse and maltreatment. This is a single session, two-hour workshop that satisfies this particular requirement for New York State teacher certification.


School Violence Prevention & Intervention

In this single session, two-hour workshop, participants will receive training in the prevention and intervention of school violence. This workshop satisfies the School Violence and Intervention requirements for New York State teacher certification.


Global Mental Health Summer Institute

The Summer Institute in Global Mental Health is an immersion training program for mental health, health, and allied professionals working with populations that have endured severe adversities and trauma, such as domestic and political violence, extreme poverty, armed conflict, epidemics, and natural disasters.


TC College Advising Program

Writing from Within

This experiential, hands-on writing workshop series, hosted in partnership with Eve Becker of Leaf and Pen, is designed to help both you and your students craft prose with voice, authenticity, and vitality. Over three sessions, you'll explore strategies for finding inspiration, locate meaningful fiction and nonfiction ideas, structure and develop a piece of writing, and establish best practices for engaging your students in the writing process.


Community Language Program
