“Cross-Fertilization” of Culture and Education for the Common Good: Promoting Sustainable, Just, and Harmonious Global Education

Founded in 2000 by Professor Mun C. Tsang, the Center on Chinese Education (CoCE) aims to contribute to a better understanding of education in China and the educational exchange between the United States and China. Organized by CoCE of Teachers College, Columbia University, the symposium aims to connect world-renowned education experts and leaders to discuss international cooperation and provide guidance on how international education can continue to promote social and educational development.

For over two decades, CoCE has been pivotal in fostering academic research on Chinese education, promoting US-China educational development, and facilitating international exchanges through various projects and events. On December 8, 2023, CoCE, in collaboration with the Office of Global Engagement at Teachers College, successfully hosted the centennial celebration of the International Institute of Teachers College. To carry forward the spirit of the International Institute and to foster the bridging role of CoCE in research, education, training, and outreach and exchanges, CoCE organizes a spring international symposium on March 15, 2024, inviting global education experts and scholars to discuss how to build a sustainable, just, and harmonious global education.
