Create various characters, facial features, hairstyles, and clothing based on Manga/Anime style of art. In this workshop, Ronah Harris (Ed.D. ’17) will teach drawing techniques and help participants explore the digital side of art! The majority of the session will be conducted using paper and pencil, but Ronah will also demo techniques on an iPad using Adobe Draw, exploring the way digital artists create layers and use other tools. Participants are welcome to follow along on their iPad, if they have one. This workshop is suitable for children ages eight and up.

Dr. Ronah Harris is the founder of Play Pattern LLC, a learning company. Dr. Harris was trained as a learning scientist in the MST program at Teachers College, and specializes in designing for K -12 learning, and leading teams to adopt new technologies. She is an advocate of computer science as a form of literacy.

Dr. Harris has been awarded two daytime Emmy Awards for her creative work on two educational television shows: Sesame Street and The New Electric Company. In addition, Dr. Harris has written curriculum, and trained K -12 teachers, in computer science, design and media literacy, at both independent and public schools in the region.

Dr. Harris has lectured and published on topics of cognition, creativity, innovation, technology, and design. She lives in Princeton, New Jersey and makes art in her studio at wacky hours of the night.
