Live Music: Mingxuan Lu Trio

Mingxuan Lu is a second year MS Electrical Engineering student at Columbia Engineering School. He plays the piano and  keyboard. He began learning classical piano at the age of five, and found passion in jazz piano just two years ago. He recently won the second place award at Vivace International Jazz Piano Competition.

Haoyang Sun is a second year MS Financial Economics student at Columbia Business School. He plays the saxophone with a bright and modern sound. He amassed extensive experience performing on a variety of stages and plays the alto saxophone in Louis Armstrong Jazz Performance Program.

Eugene Zhang is a junior in Columbia College from Toronto, Canada. He is a computer science-mathematics major and studies classical double bass with Joseph Conyers in the Columbia-Juilliard exchange program. He enjoys exploring all facets of music-making, as Principal Bass of the Columbia University Orchestra, bassist in the Louis Armstrong Jazz Program, and Co-Music Director and arranger-conductor for Columbia Pops.


The Everett Cafe Music Program sponsors performances by TC student and affiliated musicians. Come enjoy a variety of genres and styles! Please contact us if you are interested in playing! We welcome solos, duets, and trios.
