Title: Investigating the use of a conversation-analytic intervention in post-observation conferences with pre-service TESOL teachers

Data description:

As part of her dissertation, Lauren is investigating the use of a conversation-analytic intervention in post-observation conferences with pre-service pK-12 TESOL teachers. In particular, she is interested in how the student teachers and supervisors collaboratively reflect on the student teachers' teaching videos during the conferences. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in a line-by-line analysis of the data with the aid of a transcript and video clip.

Bio:

Lauren Carpenter is a former NYC public school teacher turned researcher and teacher trainer. She is a doctoral student in the Language Use track. She studies the implementation of conversation-analytic interventions in teacher supervision.
