Title: An Interdisciplinary Working Session on Digital Task-based Incidental Vocabulary Acquisition

Description:

Sue's pilot study examines to what extent digital tasks promote incidental vocabulary acquisition by adopting a multiple case study approach. Data for this REAL Doc session are from her longitudinal pilot study, a personal log that one of the study's participants kept while performing digital tasks throughout the period of three months. This session will provide an opportunity for attendees to conduct a qualitative data analysis, which involves reading a short section of aforementioned personal log as well as working on a line-by-line coding of the log.

Bio:

Sue Park is a doctoral student in the Second Language Acquisition track and she teaches English and Korean as second languages. Her research focuses on digital task-based incidental vocabulary acquisition.

REAL Doc Zoom & Learn is a forum sponsored by the Studies in Applied Linguistics & TESOL (SALT) journal and dedicated to doctoral student research in education and applied linguistics.
