Understanding the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA)

Supervisors of union-represented employees play an important role in fostering respectful, collaborative, and productive workplaces. This 90-minute virtual session is designed to provide practical guidance on labor relations, management rights and responsibilities, and collective bargaining agreements (CBAs), while supporting consistent practices and a positive working relationship within the framework of the agreement.
Through interactive discussion and practical examples, participants will:

  • Build understanding of labor relations fundamentals
  • Explore management and union roles and responsibilities under the CBA
  • Consider performance management approaches within CBA guidelines
  • Discuss constructive ways to address workplace concerns
  • Gain familiarity with the grievance process and how it supports resolution
  • Review key provisions of the newly negotiated Local 2110 CBA (February 2026)

This session will focus on practical strategies, shared understanding, and thoughtful dialogue. Participants will have space to ask questions, connect with fellow managers, exchange insights, and learn from one another.
