Wounded Healers is an emergent, healing-centered, multimedia community storytelling project that aims to cultivate the wellbeing of educators. This project, developed by the Acosta Institute, recognizes, values, and supports the personal healing of those dedicated to creating spaces for children to thrive, flourish, and heal.  The current exhibition builds on the initial digital release in 2022 of the portrait series and podcast. Featured here are the portraits of 10 individuals, personally and proactively aware of racial and socio-economic trauma in their communities, who are engaging in their own healing work while implementing healing-centered teaching methods in their work as educators. Each portrait in the gallery connects visitors to excerpts of the personal stories, as told by these wounded healers. Website: www.WoundedHealers.space
