Jane has been a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) since 1996. She started her diabetes professional career as the Director of Clinical Services and Education at The Barton Center for Diabetes Education in North Oxford, Massachusetts. In 1999, Jane developed the Diabetes Education Program at Yampa Valley Medical Center in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, where she served as Program Director for 12 years. Jane started teaching online in 2009. She taught Nursing Theory at the graduate level and Human Nutrition at the undergraduate level. She also taught Human Anatomy & Physiology in the undergraduate classroom setting. Jane became Program Director for the Master of Science in Diabetes Education and Management Program at Teachers College in 2011, where she taught the core diabetes courses and advised students. She also taught the Nursing Knowledge course in the EdD in Nursing Education Program. In 2023, Jane became the director of the EdD in Nursing Education Program, where she advises dissertation students.
