RESIDENCY FOR LATIN AMERICAN TEACHERS
The Hollingworth Center is pleased to announce the first Teacher Residency Program at Hollingworth Science Camp 2018.
Educators from Latin American are invited to apply for this week-long immersive professional development experience at Teachers College, Columbia University. Observations in our eight classrooms will provide an opportunity to see elementary grades, inquiry-based science in action covering topics such as the human body, botany, life sciences, power, simple machines, geology, flight, and structures. Participants will also attend workshops to develop the pedagogy necessary for the implementation of inquiry-based science in their own classrooms. The residencies will be led by Jacquelyn Duran, Director of Enrichment Services, and two Hollingworth Fellows, Maria Eugenia Rivera and Anamaria Rivera, both Chilean educators. All instruction will be in Spanish.
