For the 2021-2022 academic year, Columbia University is offering a single level plan to meet students’ health-related needs beyond the on-campus services offered by Columbia Health.
Put together, these medical, dental, and vision options provide a comprehensive coverage package for our students at prices substantially lower than plans offered via the New York State Healthcare Marketplace.
2021-2022 Columbia Plan coverage is effective August 15, 2021 through August 14, 2022.
August 14, 2021- 2020-2021 Columbia Plan ends
* Students that graduated in May 2021 and are on the 2020-2021 Columbia Plan will have coverage until 8/14/21.
August 15, 2021- 2021-2022 Columbia Plan begins
September 30, 2021 - Last day to voluntarily enroll/petition to waive the Columbia Plan for 2021-2022 year
February 15, 2022- Last day to voluntarily enroll/petition to waive the Columbia Plan for new Spring 2022 students only
September 8, 2021 - Immunization records/meningitis response due for Newly Admitted Students*
*Students living in the residence halls must submit records before new student move-in.

2021-2022 Columbia Student Health Insurance coverage and fees information is available HERE.
Columbia Medical Services is open for reduced essential services. Walk-ins will not be accepted. All students are required to call 212-854-7426 in advance before visiting, including those with scheduled routine appointments.
Flu vaccines will be available in Lerner Hall from October 4—29, Mondays: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM; Tuesdays - Thursdays: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM; and Fridays: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM. Walk-in only, just bring your University ID. Please note that the line cannot be joined prior to opening time and walk-ins will be admitted no later than 30 minutes before closing time. If the line is busy when you first arrive, remember that you can walk-in all month. Further details are available at health.columbia.edu/flu.
Except for visits to a hospital emergency room or an urgent care facility, a referral from an on-campus Medical Services or Counseling and Psychological Services provider is REQUIRED in order for students to utilize the off-campus benefits available under the Columbia Student Health Insurance Plan.
Teachers College operates on a different registration schedule than the Columbia University-Morningside Campus. Therefore, our policies, procedures, and deadlines around Health Services and Insurance may differ from those of the Columbia University-Morningside Campus and its affiliates.
