Dear Members of the TC Community,
It is with much enthusiasm that I share this message with you from our new Division of Community and Student Affairs. As President Bailey shared in his September 18 message, this is an opportunity for us to continue building a stronger community that fosters belonging and connectedness for everyone at TC.
Our new Division is dedicated to nurturing a campus culture rooted in inclusivity, respect, and collaboration, while advancing student success and well-being. We will continue to offer opportunities for engagement through the Advancing Community Together (ACT) initiative introduced last year, and through our campus-wide Committee on Community and Diversity (CCD). CCD will reconvene shortly and will continue its mission to serve College leadership as an advisory group. A vibrant and supportive community is essential, not only to enrich learning, but also for our personal growth and belonging.
We will continue to cultivate a welcoming and connected environment for students, faculty and staff through the great work of the Office of Community Affairs (OCA), led by our Associate Vice President Allison Antwi, and our team in the Office of Access and Services for Individuals with Disabilities (OASID). Student Affairs will continue to advance and support student pathways and student well-being through our teams in the offices of Graduate Student Life & Development (GSLD), TC NEXT, and Student Support & Advocacy.
In the months ahead, I look forward to listening and learning from you—our students, staff, and faculty—about your hopes, ideas, and experiences as we shape the vision for this work. We thankfully have a strong foundation and rich history in place. We will build on our legacy to create new pathways and opportunities for support and engagement that reflect the many voices of our community. In the meantime, please get to know us by viewing our new Divisional website.
I am honored to serve in this role, and I am eager to walk alongside you as we continue to shape a community where everyone continues to flourish.
With gratitude and anticipation,
Thomas P. Rock, Ed.D. ‘02
Vice President for Community & Student Affairs
