I hosted a student teacher recently, and I heard that I am eligible for a tuition voucher. How do I redeem it?
Cooperating teachers do indeed become eligible for a tuition voucher each semester that they host. Please carefully read our Policies and Procedures for Tuition Vouchers to learn how to apply this benefit. Step-by-step instructions are on page 2.
Do Cooperating Teacher vouchers expire?
Yes. CT Vouchers are valid for only four semesters after the semester in which a CT hosted a student teacher, and summers count as one semester. For example, a voucher earned in Fall 2018 can be used in Spring 2019, Summer 2019, Fall 2019, and Spring 2020. Expired vouchers cannot be used toward coursework at Teachers College.
I applied for a tuition voucher and I received an email from OTE indicating that the voucher has been created on my behalf. However, I don’t yet see the tuition payment in my TC account.
If we determine that you are eligible for the voucher for which you have applied, we will produce it on your behalf, send you a confirmation email, and share the voucher with the Bursar’s Office. However, the Bursar does not apply payment until the first two weeks of the semester in which you are taking your class.
