Learning Objectives
Participants will:
- Identify multiple career options within dance and dance education, investigate careers of interest, and identify post-secondary programs that align with their future career goals
- Cross-compare the perspectives of dance leaders from across multiple sectors of the field
- Execute and compare choreography from across a range of dance genres and embodied practices
- Develop pedagogical dance content knowledge and skills.
- Gain insight into dance education research by practicing embodied and dance research methodologies
Who Should Attend
TC Pre-College courses are open to rising juniors and seniors ages 16-18. All courses are conducted in English and learners should have sufficient fluency to participate.
This course is designed for high school dancers exploring the possibility of majoring in dance in college and examining career possibilities in addition to performance, such as teaching/education, research, leadership/administration, and dance science/therapy.
Upon Completion
Participants who successfully complete this course will receive a Certificate of Participation.
