Program Description:

The Professional Tutoring Program (PTP) at Teachers College, Columbia University is dedicated to elevating private tutoring into a recognized, rigorous profession. Created by Dr. Daniel Lerman and TC Academy, PTP fuses cognitive science, pedagogy, and applied practice into a transformative experience for professional tutors.

Over 6 weeks, participants will engage in live online lectures, real-world tutoring session analysis, asynchronous coursework, and personalized mentorship. The program culminates in a capstone project, preparing graduates to lead in the future of education.

Format: 6-Week Hybrid (Live Online + Asynchronous)

  • Live Zoom Sessions will be from 6:00-7:30 pm EST on Wednesdays as follows:
    October 1, October 8, October 15, October 22, October 29, and November 5

Price: $1,495

  • Includes all program materials, live sessions, online platform access, and dedicated mentorship.

Daniel Lerman

Dan Lerman, PhD, is one of the world’s top private tutors, with 19 years of experience and a PhD in Cognitive Science in Education from Columbia University. Dr. Lerman has founded and sold successful tutoring companies, trained hundreds of tutors, and taught at elite schools such as St. Paul’s School, Saint Ann’s School, and Oxford University. He is also the founder of The League of Exceptional Tutors, the world’s leading community for elite private educators, and he is a pioneer in the study of creative problem-solving and applied tutoring practice.
