Dear Members of the TC Community, 

As immigration enforcement activity in Minneapolis and other cities continues to escalate, including the tragic killings of Keith Porter Jr., Renee Nicole Good and Alex Pretti, many in our community are feeling a profound sense of fear and horror. It is difficult to process these events and their implications and at times like these coming together is important.
 
Advancing Community Together (ACT), a Subcommittee of the President’s Committee on Community and Diversity, is made up of faculty, staff and students who come together to help promote dialogue, to navigate difficult conversations and challenging times, to introduce training and educational programming, and to listen to your concerns as we explore avenues for action together.

To this end, President Bailey has requested that ACT host a community gathering, which will take place on Thursday, January 29, 2-3 p.m. in Grace Dodge Hall Room 179. It will be an opportunity to reflect, hear what actions our community members are taking, and share ideas and resources. This event will be one of the ongoing opportunities offered to support one another and engage with these issues.

At a leadership level, TC continues to engage with peer colleges and universities to consider collaborative approaches to addressing the issues before us. Advocacy efforts continue with the American Council on Education (ACE), the Commission for Independent Colleges and Universities (CICU) and the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (NAICU).
