Scholars of Philanthropy in Higher Education (SoPiHE) is a community of scholars and scholar-practitioners who meet annually at the Association for the Study of Higher Education (ASHE) conference. Each year, 15 to 20 scholars, many of them graduate students, attend to discuss research projects, seek advice, and opportunities. These meetings have resulted in mentorships between students and faculty, collaborations on publications, and the establishment of social networks.
Beyond, the annual meeting at ASHE, we have created a SoPHiE listserv with nearly 200 scholars and scholar-practitioners to communicate and support one another throughout the year and outside of ASHE.
