TC Alumni Event Community Guidelines


In-person events

Teachers College aims to provide a safe and welcoming environment for TC community members to come together. In order to to help us create that environment, please:

  • Enter the event space ready to engage with one another, learn from each other, and build positive, productive relationships. 
  • Treat all TC community members, including fellow guests, staff, speakers, etc. with kindness and respect.
  • Use courteous language, and avoid any discriminatory or hate speech. This includes, but is not limited to degrading comments about race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender, identity, etc.
  • Refrain from excessive consumption of alcoholic beverages or possession of illegal substances. Smoking is not permitted.
  • Abide by all rules and regulations of the event venue and Teachers College’s policy library

Virtual events

Teachers College aims to provide a safe and safe and welcoming environment for TC community members to come together. In order to to help us create that environment, please:

  • Enter the event space ready to engage with one another, learn from each other, and build positive, productive relationships. 
  • Treat all TC community members, including fellow guests, staff, speakers, etc. with kindness and respect.
  • Use courteous language, and avoid any discriminatory or hate speech. This includes, but is not limited to degrading comments about race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender, identity, etc.
  • Be mindful of when your microphone is on.
  • Abide by Zoom’s Acceptable Use Guidelines and Teachers College’s policy library

By registering for an event, you acknowledge that you have read and will abide by the TC Alumni Events Community Guidelines. 

Teachers College reserves the right to refuse entry or remove a guest from in person or virtual events and any time, at its discretion. Participants asked to stop any untoward behavior are expected to comply immediately. Further action may result in removal from the event without a refund and exclusion from future College events.
