Dr. Cortina was the President of the Comparative and International Education Society (CIES) in 2018-2019. Her research interests include decolonial theories; gender and education; the education and employment of teachers; public policy in education; education in Latin America, the Caribbean, and the United States. 
 
In this talk, she will share reflections on her academic trajectory and how relevant discussions in the field are present in her work. This is a great opportunity to meet Professor Cortina, learn more about Decolonial Theories, Gender Perspectives, and how these topics can inform research in the field of International and Comparative Education.
