Book Talk: Conversation with BrightFlame about climate fiction and her new book, The Working

Date: Wednesday, Nov 13, 2024

Time: 1:00 - 3:00 PM ET

Location: RH 306, The Goodman Room

Registration: https://tc-columbia.libcal.com/event/13347929

Description: Join us for a conversation with BrightFlame about why she embedded real-world issues including the climate crisis in contemporary fantasy, and how the book's solarpunk vibe helps us create sustainable futures. In The Working, a modern coven must thwart a looming eco-cataclysm and find the key to the bright future we need. The book has diverse characters, chosen family, magic, and offers us hope. BrightFlame helped create the Center for Sustainable Futures and is our Strategist for Regenerative Earth Practices.

Please register at the link above for this hybrid event. If you do not have a columbia.edu email, follow the directions to use the support form toggled to RSVP, mention this event, and whether you'll join online or in-person.

BrightFlame would be happy to sign books--you can purchase ahead at major outlets [or at Book Culture]. The link to publisher is shown on the registration page.
