AAPI Student Circle, in collaboration with Black Student Network (BSN) and Adult Learning & Leadership (ALL), will host an all-day Lunar New Year event at Teachers College, celebrating the history of Lunar New Year in the Asian diaspora and raising greater awareness of AAPI issues today. This event is free and open to the entire Columbia University community.

Events include:

  • Historical Gallery: Lunar New Year origins (12pm to 6pm in 177 and 179)
  • Chinese Couplets Writing Workshop (12pm to 1pm in `177)
  • Zodiac Origami Workshop (2pm to 3pm in 177)
  • Yu&Me Bookstore Book Sale of AAPI writers (3pm to 7pm in 177)
  • Mahjong Games Tournament (1pm to 2:30pm in 179)
  • Panel: AAPI Identity and Professionalism (3pm to 4pm in 179)
  • Roundtable: Asian/Black Solidarity Relations (4:30pm to 5:45pm in 179)
  • Asian Cuisine Tasting (4:30pm to 5:30pm in 177)
  • Rice Wine / Makgeolli Tasting (6 to 7pm in 179)
  • Queer AAPI Comedy Show (6pm to 7pm in 179)
